Do you think that the Fire Victims should loose thier homes?

Randy Seol of Strawberry Alarm Clock doesn't think so! He has poured his heart and soul into helping the families that where effected by the Southern California wild fires. A benefit concert was planned for October 4th, and had to be postponed. In the end, we did not reach our goal to fund the families that have lost their homes. This benefit is really about them. The fires of 2003 burned more than 280,278 acres, and over 2,232 homes. Happening only 4 short years after the last devastating fire, San Diego became alight again, this time burning nearly 350,000 acres and destroying 1,350 homes and 100 businesses. Many families are still without homes, and are running out of time and hope. This benefit concert is not like others. This one is to lend a hand to the families that are still in need. Yes, FEMA has done their part, but those benefits are about to run out, and the families will again have no where to live.fire
What we are hoping now to achieve is the funds needed to assist the families and to put on an event that will get local companies, families and the media involved to help these families before time runs out.
This Reunited Overture Benefit Concert will help aid those families in re-building not only what they had, but hope in looking forward. Even though the immediate danger was over, however, those shelters and recovery centers where eventually shut down. Foundation grants allowed other agencies to provide trailers for homeless fire victims, replaced damaged equipment, cleared charred land and fund an assessment of natural and cultural resources destroyed by the flames. But residents like the Thompson family with their two children and Ortega family with four children and grandparents that they are trying to get rebuilt so they can come to live with them again, need money, and services, to reconstruct their lives. Even though millions of dollars have been donated to the recovery efforts, most of the money has not trickled down to the fire victims themselves.
Randy’s vison is to start a movement where local families and businesses, even large corporations will adopt a family to make sure they are rebuilt with thoughts of a positive future. Randy Seol in association with the Heartland Foundation are working to help two families out of hundreds that still are without the funds to rebuild their lives. A large benefit concert will be held in March of 2008. With a private kick off party to be held on November 8th, 2008 to raise funds to make this event happen. Please join us by attending this party to see what the future benefit concert is all about. Tickets are only $100 a person and includes dinner and two drinks.
